Technical information

Thank you for purchasing Ritchey! We appreciate your support and thus, every effort has been made to offer you high quality, superior design, top-notch workmanship and quality control on all of our products.
To ensure correct installation and performance, we recommend your parts be installed by a professional bicycle technician. If you plan to install your new Ritchey products yourself, please read carefully the information below before proceeding.
Ritchey assumes no responsibility for malfunction or injury caused by faulty installation or maintenance. Be aware that bolts can rattle loose and parts be damaged after a crash. All parts must be frequently checked and serviced to ensure optimum performance and most importantly, safety. We strongly recommend the replacement of all Ritchey Carbon and WCS components after every major crash. Due to the structure of these lightweight products, damage may not be visible. However failure can result due to further stresses on impact affected areas.
Urgent bulletins
Preventing corrosion from indoor cycling and other environmental factors
Marine conditions, salt flats or sweat can be incredibly caustic to metals – especially aluminum alloy. Should exposure occur, it is important to wash your bike and components as soon as possible to prevent and mitigate corrosion. If repeated exposure occurs, regularly and thoroughly inspect your components for corrosion and replace if necessary. It is also recommended that you replace your bar tape every six months to avoid sweat from your hands being trapped by the tape and corroding the bar.
Beware of Counterfeit Ritchey Products Sold Through Unauthorized Channels
In these times it has become easier for products to be counterfeited. These fake products do not represent Ritchey’s high standards for design, materials or quality. We are in no way affiliated with these products and cannot guarantee your safety if you choose to purchase and use any counterfeit product not obtained from an authorized Ritchey dealer. Ritchey does aggressively pursue counterfeit product and pursues legal action against unscrupulous manufacturers and sellers to prevent these products from making it to the market, but it is not possible to stop them all.
If you choose to purchase and use a look-alike product on the web with a price far below the Ritchey MSRP it is a clear indication you need to take care regarding safety as it may be a counterfeit product. For this reason we recommend that all customers only purchase genuine Ritchey product from an authorized Ritchey dealer. By doing so (and retaining your proof of purchase) your Ritchey product will be covered by our warranty policy as we do stand behind the products we make.
Kind Regards,
Ritchey

Chicane Top Cap Instructions
To Remove Chicane Top Cap:
If necessary, CAREFULLY use a flat screwdriver or similar tool to pry the magnetic cap off the stem at the FRONT of the top cap. Note that any damage such as scratches, etc. to the edge of the top cap or the seat for it in the stem body could compromise the the stability of the top cap.
Install Chicane Top Cap:
Be sure the inner edge of the stem body where the top cap sits as well as the side and bottom of the top cap are completely free from dirt or other debris. Make sure the compression cap and steerer binder bolt sit below top surface of the stem body. Place the top cap in the recessed area of the stem body, making sure it is straight and flush with the stem body. To make sure it’s seated, always tap it with a finger to see if there’s any movement. Also try to slide the cap around from side to side and front to back. If there is any movement, repeat the above steps to ensure the top cap is seated properly.
